Joie de Vivre Farm offers lesson of all levels, at our place or yours, on our horses or yours. If you’re the rider that has goals of winning ribbons and attending horse shows, the just want to have fun and be safe rider, or the rider somewhere in between, we have a structured lesson programs just for you! Lessons available for Children age 6 to adult.
JDV focus its lesson curriculum on all aspects of horsemanship. When you begin lessons at JDV you will learn horse handling, grooming, appropriate warm-up and cool downs, balance, safety, equitation, dressage, hunter/jumper, horsemanship. Once a student has learned to tack and un-tack their horse, they will be expected to have their horse ready at the beginning of their lesson. The time it takes one to learn this depends on age & ability. Once students have learned to do so, their lesson time will primarily consist of riding.
JDV offers both group lessons for one hour, or a 30 minute private. All beginning riders must start in private lessons until they can walk/trot unassisted to join a group. One hour Introductory lessons are for new students to learn to prepare their horse before and after lessons. Currently lessons are scheduled for Tuesday - Friday Afternoons and Saturday Mornings. Although we love to ride we do so in a family fun, safe, and relaxed environment. JDV farm mission is to educated and train riders that promote and encourage good sport and good horsemanship.
